Your day at Simply Spayed
No matter which procedure your pet is here for, your day follows the same quiet rhythm. Below is the outline. Your specific instructions will be in writing at check-in and on your discharge summary.
You'll have a brief phone consult before the day. We confirm the procedure, share fasting instructions, and ask about your pet's history, medications, and recent behavior. Bring a leash or carrier; bring any medications they're on; bring questions.
A calm, scheduled drop-off window in the morning. We do a hands-on physical exam and place an IV catheter when the procedure calls for it. You give us a contact number for the day, and we walk you through the plan one more time.
Dr. Finger reviews your pet's history one more time and confirms an individualized anesthesia plan based on age, weight, breed, and any prior conditions. Pre-medication for anxiety and pain is given in a quiet space before moving to the surgical suite.
The surgery itself, performed with continuous anesthetic monitoring, full sterile technique, and the protocols that come with a focused outpatient surgical setting. A trained technician is dedicated to monitoring your pet throughout.
A quiet recovery in a monitored kennel bay with soft bedding, warmth, and continued observation. We keep eyes on vitals until your pet is sitting up comfortably on their own, eating, and ready to walk out without distress.
Written discharge instructions specific to the procedure. Take-home e-collar and post-op pain medications are part of the standard package, with no add-on charges for the basics. We go over the instructions with you in plain language before you leave.
You take over at home. We provide direct contact for any recovery question. Routine rechecks and ongoing care return to your family veterinarian, with a written surgical summary sent back to their office so nothing falls through the cracks.
This is a general outline for any procedure at Simply Spayed. Procedure-specific add-ons (dental work, mass removal, gastropexy) are confirmed with you during the morning drop-off and listed on the discharge sheet.
Discharge Instructions
Your pet's written discharge instructions will cover activity, incision care, medications, feeding, and when to call us. Detailed, procedure-specific guide sheets are being prepared for every surgery we offer and will be available on opening day.
In the meantime, always follow the specific written instructions sent home with your pet, and reach out with any questions during recovery.
