Pre-op
A protocol, not a sprint.
Every surgery begins the same way: a physical exam, a review of the day’s anesthesia plan, IV access and fluids, pre-medication calibrated to the patient, and a deliberate pre-incision timeout. There is no “small” surgery at Simply Spayed — because the margins for safety and comfort on any procedure are set in these first minutes.

Technique
Calm hands, practiced movements.
Surgical technique at Simply Spayed is built on familiarity. Doing these procedures every single day means the hands know what to do before the mind has to think about it — which is when tissue handling is at its most careful, when closures are at their cleanest, and when complications are at their rarest.

Recovery
Soft patients. Quiet bays.
Same-day discharge.
Recovery begins in the OR, not after it. We pre-medicate to stay ahead of pain, support body temperature from incision through wake-up, and place recovering patients in a calm, dim bay with continuous observation by a dedicated technician.
Discharge happens only when patients are alert, ambulating smoothly, eating small amounts, and showing the kind of quiet comfort that points to a good first night at home. We send families home with written instructions and a direct number for any concern in the first 48 hours.

Founder and Owner
Dr. Seth Finger, VMD, MS
Dr. Seth Finger is the founder and owner of Simply Spayed. A veterinarian with extensive experience in high-volume spay/neuter surgery, shelter medicine, and animal welfare leadership, his career has centered on improving access to safe, efficient, and compassionate surgical care for dogs and cats.
He has performed thousands of sterilization and soft-tissue surgeries, served in leadership roles within animal shelter and rescue settings, and earned a Master of Science in Veterinary Medical Sciences with a concentration in shelter medicine from the University of Florida.
He has also volunteered internationally in Nicaragua, the Cook Islands, and Guatemala, providing and teaching spay-neuter surgery in underserved communities. Those experiences reinforced a core belief: that high-quality surgical care should be accessible, organized, and compassionate.

From a modern surgical suite to a welcoming reception and a quiet recovery area, every space is planned to help dogs and cats receive careful care and head home comfortably.
